Heavy rain did not stop Recetto – instead, it made the skiers’ performance on the water even more evocative. The Day 3 program moved forward in bursts, with pauses and restarts, as athletes kept themselves warm and confirmed to the judges their determination to compete as soon as conditions allowed.
The Men’s Tricks leaderboard was shaken by the phenomenal performance of Great Britain’s Robert Hazelwood, who claimed the top spot with 9430 points, ahead of Australia’s Lucas Cornale with an excellent 9110. Italy’s Vincenzo Marino, just twenty years old, once again proved his versatility across disciplines, finishing with 8130 points that currently place him sixth.
In the Women’s Tricks, Australia’s Sade Ferguson took control with 5790 points, while Italy celebrated Alice Bagnoli’s remarkable run that secured second place with 4710. Performances made even more memorable by the difficult conditions of cold, wind and poor visibility, which truly tested even the most experienced athletes.
